ADMISSION PROCEDURES AND CRITERIA

For admission we conduct eligibility tests from Grade 1 to 12.Based on their performance and the interview with the Principal/Vice Principal,they qualify to be the part of Al-Adhwa School family. The syllabus for admission test ( for all grades ) shall be based on the previous year's curriculum. In Kindergarten,we admit on the basis of " First come First Serve " .There will also be an interview with the parents of the students by the Principal/Vice Principal.
Whom to contact after the test---
After the test parents are required to obtain the school prospectus from the accounts office ( on payment ) in which the Admission form is attached.You are requested to fill this form with relevant information and to enclose the essential documents.
The parents along with their wards shall meet the Principal/Vice Principal for an interview, after the completion of admission formalities. The school uniforms and the books can be taken from the respective stores on the assigned days. If required the school transport is available for all students for the designated areas. Documents required at the time of admission Kindergarten ( 1-2 ) 1-Age of the student should be 3+for K.G 1 and 4+ for K.G 2 ( at the start of the School year. 2-Photocopy of the Original Passport – Student + Father 3-Photocopy of the Vaccination Card. 4-Photocopy of the Original Birth Certificate 5-Photographs ( 5 ) 6-Photocopy of Kholasat Al Kaied ( for U.A.E nationals only ) Grades 1-12 1- Photocopy of the Original Passport – Student + Father 2- Photocopy of the Original Birth Certificate 3- Photographs ( 5 ) 4-Original Transfer Certificate duly attested. 5-Photocopy of the Report Card from the previous school. 6-Vaccination Card copy. 7- Photocopy of Kholasat Al Kaied ( for U.A.E nationals only ) Note: 1- The Original Transfer Certificate must be attested from - Ministry of Education/State/District/Education Officer/Inspector of Education/any Education board of the respective countries and - Ministry of External affairs and - U.A.E consulate or embassy of the representative country counter signed by U.A.E Foreign Affairs. 2-All admissions are subject to approval by the Ministry of Education,U.A.E. To assure your child/children enrollment this coming school year,a reservation fee of AED 500 is to be paid,it is to be deducted from the school fees. The admission/registration fee i.e AED 200 will not be refundable if the student does not join the school or enters the class for a single day. If student leaves school for any reason by law,the school will collect fees as follows: A- One full month fees if he attends school for two weeks or less. B- Two full months fees if he attends school for more than two weeks and less than one month. C- Three full months fees if he attends school for more than one month. D-School books and Uniform will not be refunded. E- Transport fees will be applied as school fees. The Tuition fee form is available at the reception and with the accountant. The school will be following the discount method: 10% - on the second child 15% - on the third child 20% - on the fourth,& so forth Terms of Payment There will be two ( 2 ) payments only. Cash Basis: First Semester—August/September During the ENROLLMENT PERIOD Total tuition fees of all your child/children will be paid as follows: 50% on the enrollment day Second Semester – January/February The remaining half will be paid at the beginning of the second semester of the school year. _____________________________________________________________________ Government Payment For those who are paid by the government,please pay the balance of the tuition in August/September providing an official letter from your workplace concerning your allowances. Provided allowances which has the amount of AED 6000/child,the said amount will be deducted from the total tuition fee. ATTENDANCE Children must be in school by 7:45 a.m before the assembly starts.Teachers are responsible for children from 7:45 a.m onwards. Children must be collected promptly when classes end at 1:45 p.m. Teachers will guide the students to buses and buses will leave before 2:00 p.m. Regular attendance is expected.Prior approval for unavoidable absence,lateness or early withdrawal must be obtained by letter from the principal. The school Nurse should be notified when a child is ill and unable to attend School.In the case of an infection,the School must be notified and the child must bring a certificate of clearance on return to School. School faculty and staff will leave at 2:00 p.m. Relevant teachers/supervisors/students and staff will stay for after school activities. ( As per the activities Schedule ) DISCIPLINE A high standard of behaviour and good manners is expected at all times.A student can be given detentions and can be expelled for 3 to 5 days for misconduct after warning letter to student and notification to parents.He/She will be accepted after apology letter by the student and parents/guardians. FEES Fees must be settled within the first week of each term. SCHOOL UNIFORM It is compulsory and must be strictly adhered to. EQUIPMENT Each child is required to have a suitable bag to carry his/her personal equipment, homework and relevant books.However heavy books, for junior grades will be kept in the school, in the class cupboard,under the custody of subject teacher and home room teacher.Twice a month they will be sent home for parents to peruse. HOMEWORK Students must complete their regular homework assignments.Parents must sign in the homework diary for students completion of homework.A compiled homework sheet for the whole week will be given from grade 1 to 3 for parent's assistance. HAIRSTYLES 'Extreme' hairstyles for boys and girls are not permitted.Shoulder length hair must be tied back neatly. JEWELLERY Girls with pierced ears will only be permitted to wear one pair of studs.Any other jewellery is not permitted.The School cannot accept responsibility for any loss and injuries caused by wearing jewellery. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS Parents will be informed by school for the regular holidays.For any unpredictable holidays please check with the local newspapers and media.When the Government declares ' the public sector will be closed' all Schools must, by law ,remain closed and there will be no School on these days.
Adherence to these rules is the responsibility of parents.
